Years of scientific study by child health experts shows that constructive play is an essential part of a child's learning and development through helping them to learn and express their creativity.  In this regard what children wear plays an important part in developing a sense of self-esteem and giving them the confidence to discover what life has to offer.

The Eureka label is all about making Kiwi kids feel confident and stylish and fostering an interest and pride in appearance. And the clothes are developed specifically to withstand the rigours of active children.

In order to ensure that our range of clothing meets the requirements of its discerning customers Eureka periodically invites children (with a parent or guardian) to apply to join its Development Squad (they call them co-designers). The squad’s role is to review, monitor and recommend improvements to the Eureka range, trial and test new designs and suggest new styles through discussion groups and surveys as well as help with fit and photographic modeling.

Each member receives an official Eureka Development Squad tee and a certificate of merit upon completion. It's a real learning experience, a chance to brainstorm ideas, think and be creative and learn about personal appearance / style and to have an opinion and express themselves.

Eureka garments are developed and refined season by season in response to both customer feedback and an intensive research and development process:

• Talk to our Development Quad regularly and understand what they want us to make
• We have a look around the place
• We study kids at play in different environments, for example, understanding key pressure points such as the knee surface area, and apply what we learn to our designs
• We research literature on kids' physical and emotional development
• We conducting qualitative market research, independent consumer research and consumer trial panels
• We conduct rigorous testing of fabrics: shrinkage rates, pilling, colour fading, pressure point wear, spirality and wear and tear to get the garments perfect.
